(Price includes shipping) This gave me Berta vibes with its paisley-on-grid-lace look in the bodice...but I must part with it as I have another dress.
For the bride who needs a dress for the outback, but wants that high fashion feel!
Also, if you're from Melbourne and wanted to support a Melbourne company, maybe if you're also elsewhere...this would be a beautiful gown to show off your hometown.
DRESS:
- Trumpet at knees, flowing into ripped organza flared bottom, which I adored!
- Perfect for dusty country weddings! Not delicate lace. Feels light yet indestructible.
- Bodice is strong and boned, not just a sheet of fabric, and all detail is glossy beading instead of sequins. Zips up the back with loops and satin buttons to "cover the zip" (which are so cute!).
- So if you're anything like me, who was sick of all the lace and sequins after a while, this is for you.
SIZE: (Measured myself using flat 2x)
- Bust = 32-34", 81-86cm
- Waist = 32", 81cm
- Hips = 40.5", 102cm
- Bodice length (side) = 24", 61cm
- Flare skirt length from bottom of the bodice = 26", 66cm
- Flare back (from bottom of bodice, sweep train) = 36", 91cm
- Total length front = 50", 127cm
- I bought this off the rack, was told it was a 14 AU, probably better for a 12AU with some alterations unless you're exactly measure the waist-hip ratio above.
- In the photos I was a size 18-20 for reference; That's why the top sticks out and it's tight at my hips.
- I have photos of the sweetheart neckline on the hanger and it's soft and round, not pointed.
BACKGROUND:
- One off Catherine R Couture gown. Made for runway show for small boutique in Willoughby, Sydney. It is one of a kind in bodice, CRC makes a trumpet which is close but not exact. That's why I have photos of the bodice mostly, to show the unique style.
- Brand new, never worn except when bought.
- I originally was going to keep the gown and have the bottom changed to snaps so I could remove the flare after ceremony and wear a cute mini at reception - the bottom is straight all the way around so it has good rewear value if you do this.
- I am selling because I really couldn't butcher it, and should go to someone who can fit it well.
- Congratulations if you're looking at dresses for the first time, I bought my new dress from another site and really want someone to enjoy this stunning gown and I am really sad to part with it.
