Oscar de la Renta's iconic "Ansley" wedding dress is from his 2014
Spring Bridla Collection, one of the last bridal collections designed by
Oscar himself before his death. The Ansley is noted for its exquisite
hand-stitched silk taffeta threadwork and sequin embroidered flowers on a
silk faille strapless ivory gown. The world came to expect a refined romance
from Oscar de la Renta's wedding collections, but for his Spring 2014 bridal
line the designer turned the stuff of fairy tales into reality.
"Every woman dreams of that day," the designer wrote in his show notes for
the 2014 spring collection . "You have to go the extra mile and fulfill
that dream to make something that a woman will fall in love with." To that
end, de la Renta designed a series of highly decorated wedding gowns that
didn't feel stuffy or heavy-handed but true romance. The Ansley's
intricately hand-stitched threadwork and embroidery with silk flowers
carefully arranged throughout the gown is so detailed it's the stuff of
couture and a rarity even in today's high-fashion designer wedding dresses.
The train is chapel length (a bit extended) and the dress was customized to
add a sweetheart neckline to exude an even more romantic look. The ivory
color is perfect in any light and the weight of the silk is so light and
moves effortlessly. There are two discreet pockets for a perfect hiding
place for any little last minute items you may want to carry with you for
your special day
Final sale. The dress is expertly cleaned and preserved in a French
laundry's high-end wedding box ($780 process). You may try the dress at
Oscar retailers to understand sizing and the hand-made nature of the gown.

Gently Used
Worn once and dry cleaned. Some small stains on the very bottom of
the train but not noticeable. A small flower missing mid-train. Please look carefully at the photos.

DRESS ALTERATIONS
Very few alternations. The hem at the bottom was taken up a touch, and the
bust was taken in a touch to make it fit. Other than that, there were no
alterations.
